The Watcher in the Attic

 The Watcher in the Attic

For years, the residents of Maple Street spoke of a strange presence in the old Parker house. Left abandoned after a series of tragic deaths, the house became the stuff of urban legend. Neighbors often saw lights flickering in the attic at night, despite the house having no electricity. Strange sounds, like dragging footsteps and faint whispers, could be heard even from outside.

One cold November night, Eric, a paranormal investigator with a passion for debunking myths, decided to spend the night in the house. Armed with a night vision camera, an EMF reader, and a notebook, he entered the house just before dusk.

The air inside felt heavy, oppressive, like the house itself was watching him. As night fell, the temperature plummeted, and the once silent rooms came alive with unexplainable sounds—creaking floorboards, distant laughter, and objects moving on their own.

Around midnight, Eric ventured into the attic. The air grew colder the higher he climbed, and the sense of being watched became unbearable. As he reached the attic, his camera began to malfunction—static filled the screen, and the EMF reader spiked off the charts.

Suddenly, the door to the attic slammed shut. Eric spun around, his flashlight revealing something in the corner—a figure, tall and shadowy, with glowing red eyes. It stared at him, unmoving, its presence suffocating.

Eric tried to leave, but the door wouldn’t budge. The figure began to move closer, its hollow voice whispering his name. Desperately, he backed into the far corner, trapped, as the figure loomed over him.

Hours later, when authorities arrived to investigate the noises reported by the neighbors, they found Eric’s equipment scattered across the attic floor—but he was gone. The attic window, which had been sealed for decades, was wide open, and the only trace of Eric was his camera, which contained footage of the shadowy figure staring directly into the lens.
